| My Inner Nerd (or How I Spent My Sunday) |

Ryan and I played New Super Mario Bros. Wii yesterday ALL DAY. Like a ridiculous number of hours. So Many Hours that I have repetitive stress injuries on my hands. My left thumb is particularly sore.
Ryan played as Mario and I played as Luigi. Mario had to use 1 continue, while Luigi... Luigi had to restart 21 times. So, if nothing else, I have strong PERSEVERANCE!! Mario several times caused Luigi's brutal death though, so I won't take all the credit for dying all the time. Often Mario would pick up Luigi and fling him into lava or off cliffs. This would often cause shouting and swearing on my end. I am sure our new neighbours think we are having relationship troubles or that we are super weird.
In the end, Princess Peach was saved. (Mostly thanks to Mario as Luigi was crushed by Bowser)
Game play: two sore thumbs up |

| Great Movie Ideas |
[Oct. 28th, 2009|12:29 pm] |
From Letters of Note - The story of Richard Thornhill (George Caplan) in North by Northwest was kindly provided to Alfred Hitchcock by Otis L. Guernsey. The movie is, I think, one of Hitchcock's best. Something I didn't know though, was that the story was loosely based upon actions in the second world war, which only adds to its greatness!

| High Tea |
[Oct. 13th, 2009|12:20 pm] |
High tea is always a good idea, except it tends toward the brutally expensive in Toronto. Until now!! I just read about an authentic 19th Century High Tea for only five dollars!! Etobicoke's Montgomery's Inn Museum serves this for a few hours from Tuesday through Sunday. In addition to the tea, there is a museum to explore as well! I would like to go!! Must entice a fellow go-er! :)

Volkwagen created this video - I'm not too sure what the text says but I read: "The link to VW is that the small things (VW cars are small) make the largest impact on our lives. They want you to associate the joy from this experiment with their vehicles." which seems to fit...

In 1957 Denis Cox offered his expert help to try to jumpstart Australia's entrance into the space race. Here is a letter to Woomera Weapons Research Establishment with the Rocket Ship design. I enjoy the "You put in other details"!:

Read the rest of the story here, including what Denis is up to now!

Based on packaging alone I would be tempted by this product..... Well, I would if I had a cat or a dog or a bird or a fish.

The cat's the cutest with his giant mouth, although the dog is about to pounce on his food dish which is also pretty great. via Lovely Package
